Graduate study is offered in two broad categories: research-based programmes leading to the Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) and Master of Engineering (M.Eng.); and professional coursework-based programmes which primarily provide advanced coursework leading to Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in specified disciplines.

Research-based programmes
 

The Faculty has built a comprehensive research infrastructure with top-notch facilities conducive for the pursuit of creative research.

Graduate students have the opportunity to work closely with faculty members on a wide variety of exciting research projects. Excellent opportunities are available for students to be immersed in a vibrant research-intensive environment in any of our 8 departments/divisions in the pursuit of a higher degree leading to:

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

  • Doctor of Philosophy - Industrial Postgraduate Programme (IPP)

  • Master of Engineering (M.Eng.)
  • These higher degrees are awarded based on coursework and supervised research on an approved topic, culminating in the submission of a thesis.

    The Master of Science (M.Sc.) programmes, conducted in the evenings and aimed at working professionals, are designed for university graduates who wish to advance their knowledge and careers in their chosen field of specialisation.

    The M.Sc. degrees are awarded once the candidates pass the relevant examinations and achieve a minimum level of proficiency in the examinations.
